HOUSING AUTHORITY RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD

HAGERSTOWN - The Hagerstown Housing Authority received an early Christmas gift Friday afternoon when it learned it had been named the recipient of a national Excellence in Housing award.

Announcement of the recognition was made at the Housing Authority's annual employee holiday luncheon at Elgin Station.

The local agency was selected for top honors over thousands of housing authorities across the country, said Jose Rodriguez, who represented Nan McKay & Associates Inc., sponsors of the award.

NMA SUPPORTS COMMUNITY IN FIRE RELIEF EFFORT
Donating Funds from “Meet & Greet” to Fire Victims

El Cajon, CA, October 30, 2007 - In response to the Southern California Firestorm, Nan McKay and Associates will donate the money from the “Meet & Greet with NMA” scheduled for Oct 29, 2007 to support relief efforts for the victims of the firestorm.

The California firestorm burned over a million acres causing the evacuation of over half a million San Diego County residents and destruction of over 1600 homes. President Bush declared Southern California is in a state of National Emergency. NMA employees were personally affected by the evacuations and feeling the deep need of the community extend their deepest sincerity to these families. NMA’s decision to cancel the “Meet & Greet with NMA” came from the need to support the community in the relief efforts.

NMA AWARDED HUD STOP-LOSS CONTRACT

Independent Real Estate Analysis and Property Management Assessment

El Cajon, CA, February 15, 2007 - Nan McKay & Associates (NMA), Inc. today announced that they have been awarded a contract for Independent Real Estate Analysis and Property Management Assessment from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Under the contract, NMA will be reviewing all stop-loss kits for completion with submission requirements, conducting on-site reviews of successful conversion to asset management of all decliner PHAs with 250 or more units, as well as several other items under the agreement.

“We are pleased to be selected by HUD as the contractor to review PHA Stop Loss submissions” shares Ray Adair, NMA’s VP of Finance and Senior Associate leading consultant on the contract. 
“We will be reviewing submissions for completeness and conducting reviews of the submitted materials in order to determine whether a PHA is in compliance with the asset management provisions of the final rule. Our team of highly qualified individuals is excited to be involved in this project for HUD and the affordable housing industry.”

Nan McKay & Associates co-founded a Financial Consortium, to bring together a team of financial experts who bring a wealth of skills, knowledge, and expertise to the public housing industry. Consortium members include Phineas Consulting, a D.C. based firm, Urlaub & Company, an Oklahoma based firm, and AHACPA, a Utah based organization. The Financial Consortium has been heavily involved from the initial planning stages of the Project-Based Asset Management (PBM) transition, including participating in the working group meetings, and assisting with the development of the Project-Based Management Accounting Guide, “Changes in Financial Management & Reporting Requirements for Public Housing Agencies Under the New Operating Fund Rule (24 CFR 990).” Members of The Financial Consortium have joined Nan McKay & Associates to work on the Independent Real Estate Analysis and Property Management Assessment contract.
